via etsy.com
This is a vintage Japanese sweets mold called "kashigata".
This is in the shape of "tai" or sea bream. This fish is considered to be lucky.
This is made of aluminum-but a special aluminum for this kind of mold. It is a bit heavy and is hard. There are 3 little feet on the bottom. This would be placed on a hot flat grill to cook the sweet bean cake (think of 2 pancakes with filling in the middle). This is a very popular snack in Japan.
*You can use this mold as food mold to cook. Please clean thoroughly before using.
It measures 20 cm long x 11.5 cm wide.
