This was an amazing find. They are from the "昭和" "showa period" . The "showa" period is from 1926-1989 but these are at about 25-30 years old . This is called "型紙" or "katagami". This is a stencil that was used to make "kashigata" (for more information on "kashigata please see below).

This is unique! In many parts of the world this would be considered a hibachi but in Japan, this cooking stove is actually called a "shichirin" and a hibachi was actually just a heating device- almost never used for cooking.
On this shichirin, there is a piece of beef and a shitake mushroom. Under the grill, there are some charcoal bricks.

This is soooo cute hannari tofu plush! This one is called mentaiko (the marinated roe of pollock) hannari tofu. Mentaiko is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine. He has mentaiko on his face. So Kawaii!
