Bento Themed Rings!

I LOVE these rings! These are bento themed rings that actually open! This first one is really unique-it is an insect themed bento! The bento box is just like what Japanese kids use to keep insects in after they collect them. This bento box opens to reveal a "beetle" hot dog, a butterfly (looks like a carrot and rolled egg sandwiches) and "tentomushi" or ladybugs made from mini tomatoes!

I LOVE this next ring!! Japanese moms really do make lunches this cute!! This alligator bento box opens up to reveal sandwiches that look like little alligators! There are also cherry tomatoes!

I've opened another store!

Well, I've opened another store on etsy! This is my third one! I never thought I would do it but there are so many cute/kawaii things to sell and our other store is getting huge so we decided to open this one just for "decosweets" that is what all the cute decoration items/mini cakes/whip cream clay things are called in Japan so I named my store.... DecoSweets.etsy.com . I am totally loving this store. There are so many things I will be buying for this shop...clay, molds, books, kits, deco mini items etc. We will still sell some of these items in our other store FromJapanWithLove but we will focus on it in the new store! Here are some of the items we have up now.

This is so cool!!

This is so cool that I had to share it with everyone! An etsyian named julietaromano and her boyfriend created this very cool application that allows etsy users to create a "flipping book" from their shop! I just made mine for my hand made shop and here are some screen shots.

The cool thing is that it updates automatically! You can check mine out at http://www.myetsybook.com/EtsyBook.html?id=6549069 Just be warned that it can take a little time to load each page so wait patiently!

You can check here for more info on the site http://www.myetsybook.com/ and here from the etsy forums :

New Rings!

I have made and listed more rings! The one above is a ramen ring!! It is very cool as the chopsticks look suspended in air!

This next ring is stunning! There are plums blossoms and pine in gold and silver foil. I painted the wood base and I mixed the paint myself...it looks metallic and is a perfect match for the ume (plum) blossoms.

New rings and other items

Here are some of my newest products!

Rings! These are very cute!!

This first one is "chawanmushi" or savory egg custard. I love this stuff! You can see a little shrimp, some veggies and the yellow bit is a "ginnan" or ginko nut. There is also a pair of chopsticks and they are both on a red plate.

The next ring is really cute...it has snow rabbits! There are 2 little snow rabbits that would normally be made out of rice and the pink lacy things behind the rabbits would normally be made out of "renkon" or lotus root. This type of food is served for New Year's day. The rabbits are on 2 hand painted pieces of wood. On the square piece there are flowers made from chiyogami paper.

Here are some gorgeous thank you cards that I made. These are gorgeous cards (they don't open-they are more like a mini postcard). They are printed on a very unique and special "paper" made from washi and polyester film so they are unlike any paper you have probably felt. They are slightly translucent. There is also gold and silver leaf in the cards which add a very elegant touch. The background is stunning...pink and white sakura.

These are stunning. Both the cards and envelopes have been embossed with gorgeous ume (plum blossom) and branches. The plum blossoms sparkles which adds elegance to an already beautiful set.

This is very unique and eye catching! This is part of a new series of rings I am making using chiyogami paper. I used Japanese chiyogami paper and a chiyogami cherry blossom to make this ring. I also applied a special varnish for Japanese paper to protect the paper and give a beautiful sheen.

Chiyogami Paper

I finally went paper shopping. The store we go to has strange business hours and is a bit far away but we finally got there. We picked up a lot of paper so we will be listing it over a period of time. Here are some of my favorites!
The first one is my absolute favorite paper. I'm having a love affair with ume (plum) blossoms lately. This paper is sophisticated and elegant and I want a wall covered in it so I can just stare at it all day. You can't really see it but there is a ton of gold on this paper....stunning!!
I also LOVE this next one because it is so unique and reminds me of tree branches. When I see this I keep thinking "tree of life".

This next one is also wonderfully unique...bold colors...a mix of flowers, traditional Japanese designs bamboos etc.

We listed many more so feel free to check out our store! Please click on the picture to be taken to the listings.
