This is a very gorgeous set! This is at least 40 years old.It is called a "三段重" or "sandan-kasane" which means "3 layers piled". These kind of sets are very popular in Japan as Japanese like to eat many different dishes at one meal.
There is a crane sitting on a branch of a pine tree. In Japan, cranes symbolize a long life. It is mostly in blue and white but there is a touch of soft pink on the crane's head and on the lid the sun is also the same soft pink. Please check all the pictures as they show the images that are also on the back and the 2 sides.
It is in excellent condition. It measures 17 cm tall cm x 14 cm wide. Each layer is 14 cm wide x 5.2cm deep.
Do not use in the microwave. Wash by hand.
