Japanese Hand Towel Traditional Tenugui 100% Cotton Cherry Blossoms Blue T14 | eBay

This hand towel is called a "tenugui". A Tenugui (手拭い) is a thin Japanese hand towel made of cotton. It is typically  plain woven and is almost always dyed with some pattern. It can be used for anything a towel could be used for - as a washcloth, dishcloth, but often as a headband, souvenir or decoration. Towels made from terry cloth have replaced many of its use in the household. However tenugui are still popular as souvenirs, decorations, and as a head covering in kendo, where it functions as a sweatband, as extra padding beneath the headgear (men), and to identify the participants by team color. It is 35 cm x 87 cm (approx 34 x 13 inches) and is 100% cotton.

New Handmade Jewelry Listing on Etsy - Fabric Covered Ring etc

I listed big & small Japanese fabric covered rings, sushi miniature ring and tea cup ring on etsy.
I found very Japanese style fabric on supply shop. And that is why I made fabric covered rings a lot...I love Japanese style fabric.

Cherry Blossoms, Sushi Cake, Tomatoe Sweets And More

Yesterday I went to Hakata (the big city near mine)and while I was on the train, I took this picture of the train doors. In Japan, many kids in their school uniform sit on the floor so they had to put these "don't sit on the floor" stickers on all the doors. I think this might be another "only in Japan" thing.

I also took some pictures of cherry blossoms at a train station.

Today I went to a shop famous for traditional Japanese sweets. It is really beautiful!

 

They had a display of tomato daifuku...tomato sweets! These are cherry tomatoes covered in mochi (sticky rice cake) and sweetened with mirin (sweet Japanese sake used for cooking).

 

 

Then we went to a sushi shop and we saw this for sale. Sushi cake for kids!

 

Then we went to the supermarket. There are spring decorations and food everywhere.

This next picture is of pickled potatoes. The are pink thanks to plums.

The next 2 pics are things most of us in North America don't/won't eat-Raw chicken and raw horse meat.
